Covid 19 arrangements
We are glad to be open again and welcoming guests to our beautiful corner of the Highlands. For the rest of 2020 we anticipate having to socially distance in order to minimize the risk of coronovirus transmission so there will have to be changes to how we run the hostel.
Bookings: We will be taking bookings for one group at a time and a minimum of two nights stay. The bonus is you get the whole hostel to yourselves! Rates will depend on how many rooms you want to use:
1 room (max 4 people) - £100 per night or £500 for 6 nights
2 rooms (max 8 people) - £140 per night or £600 for 6 nights
3 rooms (max 10 people) - £160 per night or £650 for 6 nights
Payment: on booking by BACS transfer or cheque.
Social distancing: Please ensure you follow Scottish government advice whist using the hostel. Currently up to three households can meet indoors whilst socially distancing. The communal area is large enough for this but each household must occupy it's own bedroom.
Cancellations: full refund up to 28 days before start date. Within 28 days refunds will be given only if government guidance requires us ti cancel your booking or we can re-let the hostel.
Check in - after 4pm Check out - by 10 am We've been flexible about times in the past but as everything in the hostel will need to be sanitized between groups we will sadly have to be strict about check in/out times.
Bedding, crockery and utensils: As every item of bedding and kitchen equipment will need to be sanitised between groups we will need to know how many people there will be in your group at least 24hrs prior to your arrival. We can then ensure the correct number of beds are made up and a suitable amount of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils are available during your stay. We usually have a good range of books, maps and games but these will all have to be tidied away for now. There will be plenty of shelf psace for you to bring your own from home!
Cleaning: We have always prided ourselves on the cleanliness of our hostel and every nook, cranny, surface, pot, pan, plate and utensil will thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival. However we will not enter the building during your stay, except in an emergency. Cleaning equipment will be available for you to us. Please bring your own face coverings and towels. Please note there is no mechanical dishwasher in the kitchen - we advise bringing a human one with you! There are facilities to hand wash clothing and a spin dryer but no access to a washing machine.
Reception: We will speak to you by phone when you arrive and be available, again by phone, from 8-9am and 4-8pm for queries but will of course be available for emergencies at other times. If Sue & Neil are on duty they will be living in the main house. If it is Ali & Adrian on call they live less than five minutes away.
This seems a long way from our usual friendly relaxed style but needs must at the moment. We look forward to the days when we can have a natter about your adventures without shouting across the car park and welcome our many solo regulars again!
